This notice describes how Citation Scorecard processes evaluation content and what may be shared with configured legal-data sources.
Documents are processed for the requested verification
Citation Scorecard processes submitted content to identify and check supported citations and quotations and to generate structured findings for the authorized evaluator.
External requests are limited to what the check requires
When Citation Scorecard queries a configured legal-data source, it is designed to transmit only the citation, quotation, and related authority information needed to perform the applicable verification.
In the current controlled evaluation environment, the complete document and unrelated document content are not transmitted to the legal-data provider.

Provider credentials are handled separately
Managed credentials remain within protected backend processes. Credentials supplied by an evaluator are used for the applicable verification request and are not displayed in the resulting report or export.
Citation Scorecard is not a document repository
The controlled evaluation environment is designed to perform verification and return results, not to provide long-term document-management or report-storage services.
Data handling is aligned to the implementation
Data flows, retention requirements, hosting responsibilities, approved legal-data sources, and customer-specific controls are addressed during technical diligence and implementation planning.
Authorized Checkstead personnel may access submitted content or generated results only when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or support the service.
Hosting provider
Render provides hosting infrastructure for the controlled evaluation environment. Information processed within the hosted application may pass through or temporarily reside within that infrastructure as needed to provide the evaluation service. Checkstead’s application-level data handling practices remain described in this notice.
Qualified legal-technology platforms may request a controlled evaluation and discuss implementation-specific data handling.
